On October 8, 2022 Women’s March took to the streets of Washington DC as part of the Women’s Wave day of action. Thousands of protesters marched through the United States capitol protesting the overturning of Roe V. Wade while some 450 marches took part in cities across the country. The Austin, Texas, chapter of Women’s March organized Snatch ‘Em by the Vote as part of the day of action, advocating for the “rights for women, communities of color, LGBTQIA+, people of multiple faiths and people with disabilities be protected." During the rally they spoke on reproductive issues, gun violence, racial issues and women’s right specifically regarding the Women Life Freedom movement in Iran, following the murder of Mahsa Amini. Following the rally, activists behind RiseUpForAbortionRights.org took to the streets. Dawning the symbolic green colors of abortions rights activism, they marched down Barton Springs Road as police stopped traffic along the way and ultimately blocked the protesters from entering the grounds of Austin City Limits music festival.
