Following the leaked document outlining the argument for overturning Roe. V. Wade, the Supreme Court followed through and on June 24, 2022 with the 5-4 ruling, it was declared that there was no constitutional right to abortion. Days after the ruling, gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke lead a pro-abortion and women’s rights rally in Austin, Texas. Running against staunch right-wing Republican Greg Abbott, activists and democratic politicians rallied around the beloved figure of the Texas Democratic party. Along side him were former State Sen. Wendy Davis, 2022 Dem. Nominee for Att. General Rochelle Garza, Yasmine Smith, Aimee Arrambide, State Rep. Donna Howard, Travis County Clerk Candidate Dyana Limon-Mercado, City Council Member Natasha Harper-Madison, Deputy Director of Planned Parenthood Texas Votes Shellie Hayes McMahon and Democratic nominee for Texas Lieutenant Governor Mike Collier.

These photos were taken at the rally held at Pan American Neighborhood Park in East Austin. Entirely peaceful, the rally began at the park, then took to the streets after two counter protesters riled the crowed. Met by a police presence, the protesters marched down the street around the block before circling back to the park.
